Searching for Health Care Providers

Overview

This tool allows you to search for health care providers, clinics, and hospitals.

Getting Started

  1. To begin searching for a health care provider, clinic, or hospital, go to www.primewest.org and click on a provider type in the Search For box on the right side of the page.
  2. Indicate whether you want to search for a provider, clinic, or hospital.

Searching for a Provider (Provider Search)

Provider Last Name – If you know the last name of the provider you are looking for, you can type it in this field. You can type just the first few letters of the name if you are unsure of the correct spelling. For example, typing in "Peter" will give you results for Peter, Peters, Peterson, Petersen, etc.
 

First Name – If you know the first name of the provider you are looking for, you can type it in this field. You can type just the first few letters of the name if you are unsure of the correct spelling.
 

Provider Gender – This is set up to default to "either" to give you the most results. You can change this and limit your search by whether the provider is female or male.
 

Language – Use this field when you are searching for a provider that speaks a language other than English. This dropdown list contains a comprehensive list of all the languages spoken by the providers. Please note that if only one provider in the network speaks a particular language, that language will be listed, but the provider who speaks the language may not be located within the state and city you choose.
 

Specialty – Use this field to search for providers by specialty. If you are not finding who you are looking for using a certain specialty, try a similar specialty. For example, if you did not find your provider using "Oncology," try "Hematology/oncology."
 

Accepting New Patients – Use this field to search for a provider who is accepting new patients.
 

Hospital Affiliation – Use this field to search for whether your provider has an affiliation with a particular hospital.
 

Location – This tool will search for providers that are located in the state, city, or zip code you enter.

  • Using the State search
    • The search will include providers within the selected state.
  • Using the City search
    • If you don’t know the zip code, you can try using the options in the city dropdown menus. The search will include all providers in the city chosen.
  • Using the Zip Code search
    • The search will include providers within the selected zip code.

Medical Group Affiliation – Use this field to search for the name of the clinic where a provider treats members.

Searching for a Clinic (Clinic Search)

Clinic Name – If you know the name of the clinic you are looking for, you can type it in this field. You can type just the first few letters if you are unsure of the correct spelling.
 

Location – This tool will search for clinics that are located in the state, city, or zip code you enter.

  • Using the State search
    • The search will include clinics with the selected state.
  • Using the City search
    • If you don’t know the zip code, you can try using the options in the city dropdown menus. The search will include all clinics in the city chosen.
  • Using the Zip Code search
    • The search will include clinics within the selected zip code.

Specialty – Use this list when looking for a clinic that offers a specific type of care. If you are not finding what you are looking for using a certain specialty, try a similar specialty. For example, if you did not find your clinic using "Surgery," try "Cardiovascular Surgery."

Searching for a Hospital (Hospital Search)

Hospital Name – If you know the name of the hospital you are looking for, you can type it in this field. You can type just the first few letters if you are unsure of the correct spelling.
 

Location – This tool will search for hospitals that are located within the state, city, or zip code you enter.

  • Using the State search
    • The search will include hospitals in the selected state.
  • Using the City search
    • If you don’t know the zip code, you can try using the options in the city dropdown menus. The search will include all hospitals in the city chosen.
  • Using the Zip Code search
    • The search will include hospitals in the selected zip code.
