About us

Founded in 1998, PrimeWest Health is a dynamic and innovative partnership of 24 rural Minnesota counties, united to provide health coverage solutions to our members who qualify for Medicaid and Medicare. At PrimeWest Health, it’s all about people: Our employees—over 160 of them—are committed to serving over 48,000 members and more than 15,000 health care and human services providers. Because we are owned by the counties we serve, we are part of the community, and this is what separates PrimeWest Health from large statewide and national health insurance corporations. We are family, friends, and neighbors of the people we serve and work with. That connection drives us to work hard, work smart, and be the greater Minnesota health plan our communities deserve.
