Deficit Reduction Act of 2005 (DRA)
The DRA contains certain requirements that directly affect PrimeWest Health and our providers, contractors, and agents. These requirements relate to our mutual roles and responsibilities to detect and prevent fraud, waste, and abuse (FWA) in the health care system. According to the DRA guidelines, if PrimeWest Health receives or makes Medicaid payments totaling $5,000,000 or more within a Federal fiscal year, PrimeWest Health must establish, implement, and disseminate written policies and procedures that include detailed information pertaining to the False Claims Act (Federal and State) and other provisions named in Title XIX, section 1902(a)(68)(A) of the Social Security Act to all employees including providers, contractors, and agents.
PrimeWest Health is committed to conducting our business with integrity and in compliance with applicable Federal and State laws and regulations. We expect that you will understand and support our policies and procedures regarding the detection and prevention of FWA.
In order to comply with the requirements of the DRA, PrimeWest Health has adopted a written policy through which we provide detailed information about Federal and State false claims laws, including the remedies and whistleblower protections created under these laws, to our employees, contractors, and agents. In accordance with our policy, we have provided the following link that addresses information about these laws, remedies, and protections. This information can be used for you to disseminate to all your employees annually.
