Joint Powers Board
PrimeWest Health is owned and governed by 13 rural Minnesota county governments through a joint powers agreement. One county commissioner from each of the members counties is appointed to serve on the PrimeWest Health joint powers board.
The joint powers board meets monthly to set board and organization policies. A variety of formal and ad hoc committees made up of local health care providers, enrollees, and other community stakeholders advise the joint powers board. This committee structure reinforces PrimeWest Health's community based nature by ensuring its policies and practices are in sync with the interests of those it serves.
