Medical Record Audits/Site Visits
Medical Record Audits
In accordance with Federal and State laws and regulations and standards set forth by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), PrimeWest Health maintains provider guidelines for documentation and management of PrimeWest Health members' medical/treatment records. Provider groups under contract with PrimeWest Health are required to have in place medical record-keeping practices that comply with PrimeWest Health's standards regarding confidentiality, availability, systems of medical record organization, and methods to assess the quality of medical record keeping as described in the PrimeWest Health Medical Records Policy and Procedure.
Site Visits
In accordance with contracts between PrimeWest Health and the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) and standards set forth by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), PrimeWest Health provides site visit guidelines for provider groups and organizational providers who contract with us.
Quality assessment site visits are conducted at the offices of primary care providers and high-volume behavioral health care providers to assess the providers' organizational and service delivery capabilities to ensure that members receive consistent and predictable high-quality health care. The site visit is used to evaluate the provider group's compliance with PrimeWest Health's standards for medical/treatment record-keeping practices and established office site criteria. Site visits will be conducted prior to the initial credentialing/contracting process completion, every three years after initial credentialing, and whenever deemed necessary by PrimeWest Health professional staff. See the Provider Site Visits Policy and Procedure for more information.
